PitchPutt Rules
PitchPuttOrg is the Governing Rule Body of PitchPutt Courses and Play in North America
PitchPutt Hole played is the cumulative shots played from tee to hole.
1) Played with a minimum of 2 clubs and a maximum of 5 clubs.
Typical clubs are Pitching Wedge, Gap Wedge, Sand Wedge, Lob Wedge, & Putter
2) Ball must be placed on ground on tee-box; teeing the ball is prohibited.
Short game shots are never played from a tee.
3) If first shot is lost, out of bounds, or in unrecoverable hazard a one shot penalty is assessed and subsequent third shot must be played on tee-box.
4) Eligibility to play from a designated drop zone is only on fifth shot or more.
5) One shot penalty for out of bounds, water, or unrecoverable hazard.
6) Play the ball as it lies; free drop only from flower beds or designated sensitive areas no closer to the hole.
7) Ball must be holed. No Gimmies
8) Time is of the essence; 9 holes must be completed within 80 minutes and 18 Holes must be within 160 minutes. Every five minutes beyond time limit will be assessed a one stroke penalty. PitchPutt is meant to be played quickly and typically can be played in 30 minutes for 9 holes or 60 minutes for 18 holes.
